Abstract
- Mono and diprotonated species of [[I[Mo.sub.6][O.sub.24]].sup.5-] were synthesized and structurally characterized. These protonated species react with methanol in a selective manner to give methylated Anderson-type anions while the unprotonated [[I[Mo.sub.6][O.sub.24]].sup.5-] anion does not react with methanol under similar conditions.
