Abstract

The two major approaches to computer-aided design are additive rapid prototyping (ARP) and computer numerical control (CNC). ARP is the method of choice among many engineering firms because of its speed and accuracy. However, ARP is limited by the number of materials from which to choose and the size of the models. An effective alternative is CNC, which is just as accurate and rapid under the right conditions.
