Momentive's moment: Silicones producer sets out from its former home under General Electric's wing

General Electric's (GE) Advanced Materials, maker of silicones and specialty quartz, has left GE and has started as Momentive Performance Materials under the new owners, Apollo Management. The main aim of the company's chief executive officer Wayne M. Hewitt is to complete the transition in 2007 without any impact on customers.
