Abstract

The study investigates various electrical properties, including the streamer velocity, mean discharge frequency and current-voltage characteristics of positive point-plane corona discharges in air and [N.sub.2], [O.sub.2], and C[O.sub.2] mixtures. The results of the analysis shows that the shape and the amplitude of the corona current are highly affected by the variation in the gas concentration, as it leads to a change in the gas electronegativity as well.
