Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of a novel one-dimensional manganese(II) azido complex, [[[Mn.sub.2][([N.sub.3]).sub.4][(phen).sub.2]].sub.2], in which the azido bridging ligands have taken on an unusual new type of combination with the metal center as the sign of [[-EO-EO-EO-EE].sub.n], are studied. The results have shown that all more alternated systems, such as -EO-EO-EO-EO-EE-, -EO-EO-EO-EE-, and -EO-EE-EE-, have appeared only when using monodentate ligands.
