Abstract
- A study reports that fluorinated phenoxide could be used to form stable, soluble compounds of Eu(II) and Eu(III) as well as a heterovalent dimer. Dative Ln-F interactions were noted with Eu(II) ions while Eu(III) ions were observed to adopt terminal phenoxide ligations and since phenoxides are soluble in apolar media, they are potentially useful as capping reagents in lanthanide cluster chemistry.
