Abstract

A study examining the vitro antifungal effect of hexanal vapor on the major postharvest pathogens, investigating the impact of temperature on treatment efficacy, and evaluating the in vivo effect of hexanal vapor for control of B. cinerea and M. fructicola in raspberry and peach fruit is illustrated. The results after the hexanal vapor treatment at 20 degree and 7 degree centigrade show that the treatment can be easily incorporated into common postharvest handling systems.
