Abstract

Role of different packaging materials in achieving the goals of packaging like, protection, preservation of food, increasing their shelf life, reduction of waste and removal of the risk of adulteration and tampering is discussed The recycling and disposal of these packaging materials done by different methods like combustion, aerobic and biodegradation can reduce the impact of waste generation on environment.
