Abstract

The extended x-ray-absorption fine structure-infrared (IR) relationship is used for investigating the effect of various [Fe.sup.2+]/[Fe.sup.3+] ratios in initial synthesis conditions on cation distribution for manganese zinc ferrite (MZFO). The change in manganese occupancy is seen in the iron occupancies, which has helped in describing the variation in saturation magnetization.
