Stern-Gerlach experiments of one-dimensional metal-benzene sandwich clusters: [M.sub.n][([C.sub.6][H.sub.6]).sub.m] (M=Al, Sc, Ti, and V)

The various Stern-Gerlach experiments of the one-dimensional metal-benzene organometallic sandwich clusters [M.sub.n][([C.sub.6][H.sub.6]).sub.m] (M=Al, Sc, Ti, and V) are presented. These species are found to form a new class of one-dimensional molecular magnets having zerovalent transition-metal atoms.
