Abstract

The techniques of pseudogap electronic tuning and syntheses are employed for the development of the Ca-Au-In icosahedral quaicrystal (i-QC), as well as two other approximant crystals (ACs) under a rigid band assumption. The results show that both the ACs contain triacontahedral clusters as the basic building blocks at the body-centered and primitive cubic unit cell levels respectively.
