Abstract

A public opinion poll indicated that 55% of Canadian adults would vote for Jean Chretien's governing Liberal Party in May 1995. This represents a drop from the 61% who would have voted for the Liberals in April. However, support for the Liberals still well exceeds the 41% they received at the 1993 federal election, indicating that they would easily win again if the election were held immediately. Fourteen percent support the Progressive Conservative Party.
