Abstract
- Iridium complex is shown to be a highly effective catalyst for the reduction of a wide class of alkyl halides by triethylsilane. The catalytic cycle has operated by a unique process in which an electrophilic iridium silane complex has acted as silylating reagent to produce a silyl-substituted halonium ion.
