Florida papers take hurricane in stride

Abstract

Most Florida newspapers managed to conduct business as usual as Hurricane Erin hit on Aug 2, 1995. The hurricane only reached Category 1, compared to the Category 4 Hurricane Andrew that did so much damage in 1992. The papers had prepared for a worst case scenario, changing press times and sending workers home early.
