Abstract
- A Gallup survey conducted May 8-12, 1995, found that 32% of Canadians feel that the rights of individuals are threatened due to the increasing size and power of the federal government. This compares to 39% of Americans who hold the same opinion. While 13% of Canadians feel that citizens should be allowed to arm themselves to resist the federal government, 19% of Americans feel the same way. Thirty-five percent of Canadians are worried about terrorist attacks, compared to 42% of Americans.
