Abstract: The synthesis of a novel ferromagnetically coupled dimer of [Cu.sup.II]-substituted [gamma]-decatungstosilicate is discussed. Findings reveal the possibility of replacing W atoms with the first-row transition-metal atoms in an already lacunary polyoxometalate (POM).
