Abstract
- The European Commission announced new emission reduction standards for the automobile industry aimed at decreasing carbon dioxide emissions from vehicles by 25%. Limits are based on vehicle weight. Sizeable penalties will be phased in starting in 2012 for manufacturers that do not meet the Commission's targets.
