Abstract

The study of the NAD+ inhibition of Na+-P symport reveals that the NAD+ acts indirectly by first converting itself into cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR). The cADPR is a powerful inhibitor of intracellular calcium ion mobilization. The cADPR is found to be involved in the regulation of Na+-P symporter.
