Abstract

Home builders believe that the Merton Rule, the policy that requires the usage of renewable energy onsite to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, will delay the delivery of new houses in the UK. However, the policy is expected to help the United Kingdom earn a larger share of the renewable energy industry, and it is also expected to generate more jobs. The importance of supporting the proposed policy is explained.
