Correlation between colloidal stability and surfactant adsorption/association phenomena studied by light scattering

The stability of colloidal-surfactant mixture in terms of Fuchs stability ratio, W and surfactant adsorption is studied using small-angle light scattering technique. The adsorption of surfactant influences the stability of the dispersion at a lower surfactant concentration than saturation point and at higher concentrations, the formation of surfactant micelles results in depletion-induced destabilization effects.
