Abstract

The synthesis of three different selenoproteins from gram-positive anaerobe Eubacterium acidaminophilum in Escherichia coli is analyzed. The studies have shown recognition of the specific selenocysteine insertion sequence elements and have provided new perspectives for heterologous selenoprotein synthesis in Escherichia coli.
