Abstract

D-Forosamine biosynthesis is studied by using the five genes from the spinosyn gene cluster involved in the conversion ofTDP-4-keto-6-deoxy-D-glucose to TDP-D-forosamine. The steady-state kinetic parameters for the SpnQ-catalyzed reaction and the substrate specificities of SpnQ and SpnR are explored.
