Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted Oct 4-10, 1995 found that 59% of Canadians think that Native Canadians are treated well by the government, an increase from 39% in 1991. About 83% of francophones and 78% of Quebecers feel the government treats the Native Canadians well, but only 55% of Prairie residents support the government's treatment. Fifty-three percent of university-educated Canadians think Native Canadians are well treated, while 71% of public school educated Canadians think this way.
