Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted Oct 4-10, 1995 found that two-thirds of Canadians still believe the Confederation will endure, despite differences among the provinces. But the number of Canadians who believe the differences are insurmountable have grown from 18% last October to 21%. Only 47% of Quebecois think the Confederation will survive, down from 54% last October. Eighty-one percent of English Canadians and 74% of Canadians who are not English or French expressed confidence in the future of the Confederation.
