Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted Nov 8-13, 1995 found that 54% of Canadians feel that the provinces should receive more constitutional powers. Among Quebecers, 78% want provinces to have more constitutional strength. Only 39% of Ontarians want more constitutional powers accorded to provinces. Canadians are almost evenly divided on whether Quebec province's society should be constitutionally recognized, which is the highest level of support so far.
