Chiral auxiliaries & templates in large-scale API synthesis

Large-scale active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis methods involving chiral sulfinamides, chiral sulfoxides, cis-1-amino-2-indanol and 2-phenyl-1-cyclohexanol are discussed. The use of these chiral auxiliaries or chiral templates requires short development timelines and yields fast delivery of APIs. Seebach's self-reproduction of chirality method is also discussed.
