Welfare and child support: complements, not substitutes

A study was conducted to report on the key results of an experimental design which evaluated the policy of allowing custodial parents to keep all child support paid on their behalf. The study aims to examine the effects of this policy on child support outcomes and governmental cost. The findings of the study are also presented.
