Abstract

Analysis of neuroblastoma scrapie-infected N2a (ScN2a) cells for the expression and cellular distribution of heat shock proteins (Hsp) to find whether proteins participate in the transformation of cellular prion protein into the scrapie isoform PrP(super Sc) shows changes in subcellular translocations of particular Hsps in ScN2a cells. This may represent cellular response to the collection of PrP(super Sc). The distribution of Hsp73 was unaffected by heat shock.
