Abstract

The comparative [super 1]H NMR spectroscopy study was conducted to analyze the product profiles arising from the hydrolysis of cellooligosaccharides by family GH9 cellulases from bacterial endoglucanase, Tf Cel9A and plant endoglucanase, PttCel9A. The results showed that the point of cleavage of both enzymes is determined by the number of interactions between the glucose units of the substrate and the aromatic residues in the enzyme active sites.
