Abstract

The embedding of Ru nanoparticles into the otherwise unchanged metal-organic framework [[Zn.sub.4]O[(bdc).sub.3]] (MOF-5, bdc = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate) is examined. Hydrogenolysis of the [[Ru(cod)(cot)].sub.3.5]@MOF-5 inclusion compound at the milder condition has not led to the formation of Ru nanoparticles.
