Abstract

The ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy technique is employed to study the impact of coordinating solvents on the singlet-to-triplet carbene intersystem crossing (ISC) rates. The solvent effect is shown to exhibit an extremely poor correlation with the polarity of the solvent.
