Abstract
- The polymer of (2.2)paracyclophan-1-ene and its other derivatives are obtained by treating the respective monomer with the Schrock initiator Mo(NAr)(OC(CF3)2Me)2-(CHCMe2Ph) (Ar = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl). These stereoregular main-chain polystilbenes are structurally related to poly(p-phenylenevinylene). The paracyclophan-1-enes have high ratios of chromophore compared to the total polymer mass. Considerable energy transfer occurs from excited monomeric stilbenes to the aggregated sites.
