Abstract

A transfer function analysis framework was developed to predict instantaneous heart rate (HR) based on sympathetic nerve activity (SNA). The goal was to provide the principle for the development of cardiac pacemakers directly regulated by cardiac sympathetic nerve activity. Tests on rabbits prove that the framework can accurately predict instantaneous HR response based on the decoding and transduction of SNA activity.
