Abstract

The technical requirements, the operational interface and the conceptual design of the superconducting magnet system are described for the JT-60U magnet system to superconducting coils (JT-60SA). A large technical database prepared by ITER has provided the conceptual design within a short period and has helped in skipping many research and development items before the manufacture of components.
