Abstract

A new method of fabricating Nb3Sn thin films for microwave applications is introduced. It entails the deposition of niobium and niobium-zirconium on a tin bronze substrate via sputtering and the subsequent formation of the A15 phase at 700 degrees Celsius. The resulting films are characterized by good adhesion and 'wide transition to the superconducting state starting at temperatures from 16 K to 17 K.
