Abstract
- Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien's approval rating has fallen for a third straight month, from 59% in Oct 1995 to 50% in Jan 1996. His rating among those who disapprove of his performance has remained steady at 30%. Demographically, those between 18 and 29 years of age, the college educated, and income earners of $70,000 a year or more, are the most likely to support Chretien. Chretien also has more support from Atlantic Canada and Ontario at 60-61%, with 53-54% support in British Columbia and the Prairie provinces, but only 28% support from Quebec.
