Osmium complexes of 1,4,7-triazacyclonane (tacn) and 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (Me3tacn) and the x-ray crystal structure of [(Me3tacn)Os(eta6-C6H5BPh3)BPh4.CH3CN

Previous research has established a general method for the preparation of osmium complexes. This method is used to prepare osmium complexes of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane and 1,4,7-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane. The substitution and redox chemistry of these complexes are determined. Also determined is the X-ray crystal structure of a salt containing the pi-arene complex.
