Abstract: The adaptive notch smoothing (ANS) algorithm is used for performing many offline signal processing tasks like elimination of sinusoidal interference from a prerecorded signal. The studies have shown that when the unknown signal frequency drifts according to the random-walk model, the optimally tuned ANS algorithm is statistically efficient.
