The role of chemistry museums in chemical education for students and the general public: a case study from Italy

The role of museums of chemistry in chemical education is examined by analyzing Italian museums, institutions and collections of chemistry. The analysis has helped in understanding the relationship between schools and museums and also in evaluating the public perception of chemistry based on the image of chemistry emerging from Italian museum.
