The article explains the volcanic history of the Uturuncu volcano, a dormant stratovolcano situated in Bolivia, which is completely dominated by the domes and flows of dacitic lava. The volcano is shown to exhibit an unrest situation, which proves the prolonged period of intrusion of the magmatic system.
