Abstract
- The mixed-valence (Mi), fully oxidized, and fully reduced forms of the binuclear complex ( NC 5Fe-Im-Ru NH3 5)n are synthesized from (Fe CN 5H2O)3- and (Ru NH3 5Im)2+. The Mi species has FeII and RuIII localized site. Its visible bands, which are assigned by metal-to-ligand charge-transfer transitions, are observed to be on the lower energy levels than those of the mononuclear Ru(NH3)5Im2+ ion. The infrared spectrum shows bands at 2039 and 1327 cm-1 for the Fe(II) and Ru(III), respectively.
