Abstract
- Older women with mastectomy use more avoidance coping strategies and less active-behavioral coping strategies as compared to middle-aged women. The number of coping strategies used by older women is similar to the number of strategies used by middle-aged women. There is a lack of relationship between coping strategies and depression for middle-aged women, but use of an avoidance coping strategy in older women is related to depression.
