Managing and reducing total cycle time: models and analysis

Cycle time management and reduction (CTM) is aimed at minimizing total manufacturing cycle time to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Three CTM models are developed, namely, a stochastic model, Markovian chain model and queueing model. These models identify the activities which account for the largest cycle times so they can be targeted for reduction. The models can also be modified to fit various manufacturing environments.
