Abstract

Results of a Gallup Poll conducted during the week of November 4-9, 1996 revealed that 58% of Canadians surveyed would vote for Prime Minister Jean Chretien's Liberal Party in a federal election. The results are up from a 50% support claim in September. The Liberals are also favored in Quebec with a lower support rating of 47%. The Conservative Party draws support from about one-fourth of Canadians surveyed. Bloc Quebecois is supported by 9% nationally.
