Abstract

The use of nuclear heat to produce and refine liquid fuels in the United States is seen to reduce dependence on foreign oil and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. The technology can refine hydrocarbon feedstocks to produce gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. It is also seen as more cost-effective than conventional heating.
