Abstract

Wal-Mart has experienced two distinct historical eras: the 30 years preceding founder Sam Walton's death, and the 5 years following it. In the post-Sam era, the company is turning to supercenter development, globalization, and internet retailing, in hopes of maintaining high growth rate.
