Abstract
- A cross-cultural study used the employee involvement theory and showed that autonomy has positive and negative relationships to job stress in Chinese and British manufacturing firms, respectively. Autonomy has positive effect on productivity when there is lower work demand. Relationships between climate for autonomy, work demands climate, employee stress and organizational productivity were examined.
