Abstract
- The physiological, genetic, and biochemical experiments are performed to detect genes encoding monooxygenase and dioxygenase enzymes potentially involved in benzene degradation in strain BC. The results revealed that oxygen formed during the dismutation of chlorite might be used as terminal electron acceptor in strain BC as well as to attack molecules by means of oxygenases.
