Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted May 25-28, 1997 found that 41% of Canadian voters support Jean Chretien's Liberal Party. The lead is down from 55% in April but remains higher than the 22% supporting Jean Charest's Progressive Conservative Party. Twenty-seven percent of Canadians surveyed remain undecided. Support for Liberals in Quebec was at 37% while voters for Bloc Quebecois and Progressive Conservatives were at 33% and 29% respectively.
