Abstract

A Gallup survey conducted March 10-16 found that 89% of Canadians would prefer stronger family ties and 87% wanted to see a greater respect for authority. These conservative values were also emphasized in similar polls in 1989 and 1993. Liberal concerns included a greater focus on self expression and less emphasis on money as supported by 76% and 66% of Canadians respectively.
